Brandy and Emma Stamp

A while back I was searching around on the net and came across these stamps. They are co-branded with Unity Stamps and Phyllis Harris. We had just gotten home from our friends house for a weekend visit and they have a dog that looks just like this fella named Quincy. I thought these were the cutest stamps and just had to get a couple for myself to color.

This is my first attempt at coloring fur so it's not the greatest. Just thought I would share with ya!

Have a great evening.....!

A Blue Hawaiian ...

Hello.... I've been working on my Hawaii albums some more. It's taking me some time trying to figure out what I want to put on the cover? I did get the chip board covered with some pale teal colored card stock, put together the binding, Mod Podged the whole thing, and did some experimenting. I wanted to share with you what I have done!
This is going to be the spine on the album when finished.

I wanted to make the spine look different than the rest of the album. So I embossed some dark brown card stock and thought it might look cool to try some Patina colored Rub and Buff. I liked the way that turned out but it needed something else? So I took Copper colored Stickles and rubbed it on to the embossed paper. All the Stickles stuck in the nooks and crannies. I LOVE it! So cool...you should try it.

This (above) is the paper with just the Rub and Buff and below is a photo with the copper Stickles added.

That is all I have gotten done on the outside so far. I have also partially finished a couple more pages. One of them is a Slider page? I think that's what they call it? Anyways ....you can see it in this next photo and the paper I used on the inside of the album.

I still have a long ways to go....just wanted to share what I have been doing. If you have any good ideas for a paper pieced cover let me know. So far I am thinking...island, palm tree, surf board, leaves, palms, etc. I also have the door knobs from G45 that I want to use. I am thinking maybe I can make a closure with them some how?

Another Page Done!

Aloha Again! This is page #2 completed. I haven't decided what order they will be placed in the album. Guess I will do that when they are all completed.
This page has a lot of tags and two pockets. The two small tags in the photo at the top slide out and you can put photos on the back of them. The large folder that says Aloha on it has plenty of room for 2-3 photos in it.
Underneath that there is another scalloped pocket on the right side of the page.
This scalloped pocket holds the small folder with one of the bird pictures on it from the paper collection. I still need to make a large photo mat and journaling card.

I still need to add ribbon and a few more embellishments but they will come later. I am still in love with this paper collection and all of it's beautiful colors and images. If you are looking for some pretty paper for a Hawaiian or Tropical vacation album look no further. I think you will love this Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue Collection.

A Peek at My Aloha Albums

Aloha my friends! I have been working my fingers to the bone on these Hawaiian Albums! It seems so slow going when you have to make two of everything. I have been working non stop for the last few days and only have 2 pages completely done and two others started!
This is a picture (above) of the first page I completed. It has an accordion pocket on the bottom of the page that I used a On the edge die to fancy up the top edge. It is made to hold a little passport mini folder, a little booklet I made with the print that looks like playing cards in the Tropical Travelogue collection and I stamped the cover. I also made a large photo mat that I attached a tag with a brad. On the back side of the photo mat there will be an area for journaling.
It's hard to see on the photo...the color didn't photograph well but it is a fabric tag that I colored with Distress Stain in peeled paint. I then stamped a picture of the pineapple in frayed burlap Distress Ink and colored in the image with Copic Markers. When that all dried I sprayed the tag with Sandy Beach and Pearl Glimmer Mist.
I also started making the albums but there not near done. Right now they are only covered in paper. I will share more about them at another time.

I will share more with you tomorrow..............I have got to go put potatoes in the oven!
Aloha!

Aloha Album(s)

Hey I'm back Again.................Not with something I have made but with what I'm going to make!

Sorry I haven't posted lately! I honestly haven't made much in the last month since I finished "My 25 days of December". That was so much work.....I was a little burned out and with all the holiday happenings there wasn't much time left for me to scrap!

So have you all seen the Graphic 45 line called Tropical Travelogue? It's absolutely georgous! I am in LOVE with it. I love most of the prints Graphic 45 comes out with and I am so excited to make my next project ....

My husband and I are going to Hawaii later in the year and my brother and sister-in-law are going to join us! They are so excited to go with us that I decided to make them a special mini album as a surprize and one for us too! I am so looking forward to getting started on this project and I am sure I will be sick of it by the time I am done. I am sure it's going to take a month or two to make these two albums.

A friend of mine told about a you tube video of a album made with the G45 Tropical Travelogue. This album is absolutely beautiful! Here is a link to this lady's blog http://www.mycreativespirit.blogspot.com/. You must visit her blog and her you tube channel (there is a link on her blog). She has the most wonderful ideas and teaches you some of her techniques on her videos! She is a very talented woman....so please check it out!

To get a jump on making my albums I decided to start off punching out all these circles to use as supports for my binder ring holes on my album pages and covering them with Glossy Accents. I got this great idea from the lady from My Creative Spirit. Instead of buying extra large eyelets to use as supports she suggested making circles to glue to both sides of the binder holes on each page in your album.

Ya....I know it's a lot of work but I thought it was a great idea! So I am sharing it with you! I will share my pages as I complete them. Some I may scrap lift from this lady or make up my own ideas? We'll see what happens. Until I'm back again...........
Aloha~

Day #25...........?

Day25
Oops forgot to post it! It actually was my least favorite of the bunch! When I go back up to my Scraploft and get on my laptop I will post a picture of it.
I hope you all had a wonderful and happy New Years Eve last night. We had a quiet evening here at home coloring with my Copic pens and watching tv.
I hope you all have the best in 2012!
