Here's a big oops I did! I was almost done working on the cover of my Art Journal so I decided to take a picture with Instagram. A day or two later I was looking at my pictures and.... "OH NO" Look what I did! I left the "N" out of journal! I had worked on this thing for all that time and I hadn't even noticed. I thought it was looking so cute and I couldn't believe what I had done! It's all fixed now but I thought I would share the oops photo with you!

So I have actually finished two pages in my Art Journal. Today I am going to share my first page with you. I really am enjoying this Art Journal, it's making me be creative in a different way. I dug out all my old water color paints, acrylics, markers, gesso, colored pencils, etc. and started creating away...

So that's it for today! Just thought I would share these photos with you. The weather has been perfect this past week but I hear we are going to be getting some cooler days.
Happy Spring!

Birthday Bag Pocket Card

My good friend Kandy sent me a cute little "Bag Pocket Card" the other day... I liked it so much that it  inspired to make something similar for my sister in laws Birthday card.

As you already know I made it out of a lunch bag. I did a lot of stitching, distressing, a bit of Stickles here and there, clip art, twine, lace, and misc. paper. I filled up the pocket with Cupcake Tickets, tags, and clip art.

And there's a little stamping too!

This is the bottom of the tag I wrote her birthday wishes on.

Here's a photo of it all...

and the finished pocket!

Maybe I'll stick a lollypop in there too! After all everyone needs a little candy once in a while!
I think I better go make some more for my stash!
 Have a great crafty day!

Doodles and Zentangles

Sorry I haven't posted much lately... I've been busy with life and fun stuff like this!

First off I want to share this fun book I discovered in Pinterest! I have been doing a lot of research on Zentangle and Art Doodle Journals. This book helps you to learn or prompt you to Art Journal or Doodle. Each page has a different prompt to get your doodling started. It's so much fun! I think every scrapper should try this. There's no "right" way or rules in Doodling. Do what ever you want! So far I have one half of a page completed that I will share with you. If you have been thinking about trying this out I strongly suggest this book to you. It's called Art Doodle Love by Dawn DeVries Sokol.

On this page I was to share "My Intentions" or what I want to achieve in this book. You can use words, doodles, clipart, mixed media, what ever your heart desires.

I also have been exploring the art of Zentangles. This is really fun! There are tons of blogs and books out there to guide you to learn how to Zentangle. They say you should take a class from a certified teacher but I am teaching my self since there are no classes near by.

So I have been practicing... There are tons and tons of different tangles that different people have made or you can make up your own.
Here's my first shots at Zentangles....

This was my first tile....

This is my first try at copying someones tangle. I may be calling them by the wrong names, don't mean to offend anyone if I am using the wrong words. I have only been at this for a couple days and am loving it!

I decided to make myself a pattern book and another book with "directions or steps" to some of the more difficult ones. Most of the patterns I can figure out but some seem a little more confusing? I'm not done with some of these... they need some filling in or coloring in.

I made a few changes to my blog. I had some unwanted comments so I decided to make it so I have to moderate all comments before they post. I don't understand why people have to write unnecessary or mean comments on someones blog? Oh well ... Less time to have to deal with it and more time to play!
Go doodle my friends!

Discovered... Alphabet Tile Stickers!

This morning while exploring the Silhouette store I discovered some Print and Cut Alphabet Stickers!
The cool thing about making your own stickers is you can make them what-ever size you want them to be and what ever color the background you want.

I discovered something else I can make on my Silhouette! How cool is this? I love them! I don't know about you but I have spent a lot of money in the past on letter tile stickers and now I can make custom letter tiles for the project I am working on.

A couple suggestions for you.... I bought "Sticker backed paper" at Staples. It's a lot cheaper then the Sticker paper Silhouette sells and use an old cutting mat, one that isn't to sticky. The first sheet I cut out was on a new Silhouette matt and it was very difficult to remove with out all the letters popping off. I found an old Cricut mat in my stash and it worked great!

Have fun!

My First Art Journal

Hello! I am back to share with you a little bit of my Art Journal I started a few days back. On one of my last entries I told you that I have been exploring different art journals on Pinterest and on blogs.
If you're interested I found a great blog on Art Journals and Typography etc. http://besottment.com
This lady designs greeting cards, invitations, teaches classes, shares some of her Art Journals, a project life album and so much more. She is a wonderful artist and her blog is great. Check it out.

I'm not going to share it all with you... some is personal. I just wanted to share that I started a art journal. They are very therapeutic and relaxing. For me I like to express some of my feelings about good or bad things going on in my life, things or people who cause stress in my life (one person in particular), excited about an event happening, or just plain doodling ... it's a great place to express all yourself.
I suggest you to try it!
